From an early age, I found in drawing a language of its own—a way to bring worlds to life, inhabited by gentle animals, whimsical characters, and fleeting moments suspended somewhere between light-hearted humor and quiet poetry.
I work with vibrant colours, rich textures, and a constant desire to capture a sense of wonder—the wonder of childhood, the beauty found in everyday details, and the fragile magic of the living world.
My travels—from Brazil to Argentina, South Africa to Asia, and on to Australia—have taught me to see the world differently: with curiosity, attentiveness, and a sense of wonder. And sometimes, between continents, I would rediscover a familiar breath of inspiration in the streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris—a treasured stopover, where beauty, tranquillity, and creative energy quietly coexist.
Today, I live in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands, surrounded by my young family, nestled in a landscape of nature, windmills, and bicycles, where each passing season continues to enrich my imagination.
I currently collaborate with publishers in France and Australia, and I am always open to new projects driven by curiosity, sensitivity, and the shared desire to tell beautiful stories.

"Every month for three years, Maude’s delicately sweet, sassy and sometimes, poignant illustrations cleverly captured the essence of my column in the Australian Women’s Weekly (AWW).
I have been writing a light-hearted but truthful column about family life in AWW called Family Matters. Maude Guesne’s bright, whimsical characters appeared on my page each month for three years, from 2015 till 2018.
She drew my family (one husband and five children plus cat) with a kind but discerning eye. Thanks to Maude I have the most witty, clever and elegant family ‘album’ ever. I believe she draws from her heart."
